Revamping thrift store dresses

I picked up the latest issue of Altered Couture magazine at JoAnn fabrics a few weeks ago, and it had two articles I liked a lot.
The first was a woman who took a god-awful 80's prom dress and turned it into any goth queen's delight!

The next was a wedding dress (to me: a garden party dress) out of men's white button down shirts!!

So hopefully these fun projects are inspiring to those who don't sew as well as those that do.
