costume

Happy Halloween!

Because of school I didn't have time to make a costume this year, so I decided to use feathers to turn existing clothing into a raven costume. I also have a great raven mask from the Pottery Barn of all places.

Here's a preview of what I have done for the upper half. God, I hope the feathers stay in place! They are only pinned to the bodice with straight pins since they will have to come off afterwards. Any advice?

[EDIT] I've decided to use small black safety pins.

Can you baste the feathers on? Basting threads are easy to take out later, but generally hold better than straight pins. (I baste A LOT.)

You're gonna look fabooo!

I thought of that, but my sewing supplies are still in boxes. So sad! I've decided to use black safety pins. They are used on most of my outfits! All hail the safety pin!

How do you like? I always pack my sewing kit with my toiletries -- can't live without needle and thread or toothpaste! ;)

Safety pins = Good idea.

I mean "how do you live". Clearly, I cannot type. *blush*
