Peterson's Magazine 1872 and 1873

MM
I'm finally getting around to scanning images from my Peterson's Magazines I got at an antique store in North Carolina this past May.

First we have a pattern for an evening polonaise. The pattern is not to scale! Click on photo for a larger image.

How pretty! don't tell me you joined the club who wants to seduce me into sewing bustle dress?

Honey, I am President and CEO of that club! LOL!

Thanks for sharing! And you just gave me an idea of what to do for a bodice of an evening gown I've been wanting to change.

Lovely pictures! :D

Thanks for sharing with us! I'm sorry I haven't had anything new up lately. I've got like a dozen things waiting, but first there was wedding stuff and now we are about to start house hunting. And I am currently embarking on a purge of my way too many possessions... on the up side I'll probably sell off some of my fabric on the TV board, so you can grab some (relatively) cheap if you like. ;)

Ditto on the thanks for sharing. I love reading the commentary text: "maize and black velvet also look well..." And I'm struck that if you cross your accessory frills in the front, it's a "fichu", but if you cross them in the back, it's a "cape," lol!
