question about chemise gown

Can anyone tell me about how many yards the chemise gown (chemise a la reine) requires? Would 4 yards of 60" be right? 5 yards? I'm 5'5" with a 27" waist and small bust.

Also, I found a ton more of that pretty cotton voile at the Joann's here in Vermont. Would that be ok to use to make this garment? (see the fabric HERE)?

Thanks, guys!!

I'm not entirely sure - I always totally overestimate!

I just wanted to comment that I'm amazed you're 5'5"...you always look so much taller in your pictures!

(Though people are always amazed when they meet me for the first time as I'm only 5'2" and the general reaction is "I thought you were taller")

Pretty fabric! It'd be ok for sure :)

Let's see, you'd want two and a half or three panels of that, shoulder to hem, for the tube that makes the body, then whatever you want for sleeves.

I used four panels of 36" wide fabric for mine. I think I made the narrowest dress out of those of us who made them at Costume College, but I'm also a shrimp :)
