Masquerade gown
Nov. 22nd, 2007 11:32 pmI'm debating whether or not I want to take pics of my masquerade gown on the manni and post them before the event. I think for once, I will wait and post pics of me in the outfit on Saturday. Keep y'all in suspense for once!
Anyway, since I didn't have to cook much (just some yummy appetizers), I was able to finish the "Vegas Showgirl Silver Lame Overskirt ' today. I took a shortcut: I didn't hem my ruffles; just pinked 'em (yeah, like that will stop the tissue lame from unraveling. I have evidence all over the house of how successful THAT plan was! Bits 'o sparkle everywhere. I think the cats will be pooping lame for a week.)
Jason actually requested a mask! Good thing as I had bought supplies to make one for each of us. Still, that surprised and delighted me. Anyway, I used the silver tissue lame on the bias, some spray glue, and raided my trim bag for decorations. He'll be wearing the
kambriel outfit we had commissioned two years ago, so I made him a matching mask of silver with black braided trim. Mine is silver with white lace trim, a few rhinestones, and white ribbon bows.
The over skirt is very simple - just the ruffle on the hem both front and back, and a bow here and there. I did put it up on the manni to see how it would look, and when I turned out the lights, the effect was great. The white and silver together with the silver glitter bird and rhinestone jewelry looks great in the dark. It almost glows :)
My pinot grigio is taking effect, so I'm going to go relax now.
