Thoughts on hemming
Feb. 1st, 2009 09:00 amSo I thought I had my mannequin set up for "low heels". I put the 1890's skirt on it and realized I had almost no fabric for a hem. Weird! So I serged the edge and turned it under with the narrowest hem on Earth. I put it on with my velvet platform shoes, and the hem was scraping the ground. Looks like my mannequin was NOT set for "low heels". Opps.
This means I'd better try on my purple NF underskirt because I attached all that pleating on that setting, and I do not intend to ruin it by dragging it on the ground! Oye!!
Someone asked about the moodboard I made in yesterday's post. The application I used is called "Comic Life" and can be found here: http://plasq.com/comiclife. I think there is software out there specifically for designers (both home and fashion), but I have no idea what it is.
