Brocade ballgown is finished!

I finished the button holes at 5:15 pm, and the light was fading fast, so I quickly took some shots outside. Unfortunately, it was still a wee bit dark AND I took the pics so fast that most of them turned out blurry. BUT I can't wait to share, so here are the shots that I have for now.

I made buttons from the brocade fabric, and tried to match the fabric where ever the button was placed. You can also sort of see the self-fabric sash and the matching light violet sash ribbon.
Here's the side shot...a little blurry, but not as bad as the rest!

Self-fabric sashes and light violet ribbon trim help break up the deep black asymmetrical overskirt and join the colors in the underskirt to the bodice.
Next, I realized I forgot to get shots of the sleeve, so took that inside. See, I ran out of fabric, so had to piece them together out of brocade fabric and plain black taffeta satin. You can see a large triangle of the brocade in the middle, and narrow ribbon hides the join.

Here are the rest of the inside shots
