...and I just realized it's only two weeks away!! My pinstripe suit isn't ready!! I'm REALLY going to have to get cracking on the jacket if it's to be done on time. I never did have time to make a hat to go with it, so I'll have to think of something in my collection that will do. Ideas or inspiration on 1895 head wear suitable for a tailored suit?

This weekend I can't sew because I'm headed to the Shore to visit my mom. I did briefly entertain the idea of bringing my sewing machine with me and working on it there, but realized what a huge undertaking it would be to pack up all that stuff and take over my mom's tiny little house.

What about that one you wore to the time travelers picnic? Or I have a big honkin black hat you can borrow if you think it would be the thing.

I finally decided to cut my stress level and only bring costumes I already have. Nothing new, but hey I figure very few people there will have seen em! I'm bringing water for the ball, the archery dress, this red/black bustle gown and some random streampunk stuff. I just need to get em all together. I feel much better. :-)

Sorry for the delay in my response. Icky cold. I might end up using the linen hat. Color scheme is the same :)

Are you attending the Saturday afternoon tea? It's an extra $10, and I'll go if you are going. Also, are you arriving friday night?

So let's see, friday night: black and white stripe 1890's skirt with silk and velvet tail jacket, Pinstripe suit for saturday morning/early afternoon, Edwardian for the Tea (if we go), black and silver 1875 ballgown for the masked ball.

I did get a ticket for the tea and I'll be arriving Friday night, not sure what time. A NJ friend thinks I'll make it in less than 5 hours, which seems like pretty good time. That would get me there at about 7 pm.

I also just got notification I won passes for two to the vip suite, want to be my guest, I'd love to have you join me! I'm starting to get excited!

YES YES YES!!! Oh, what fabulous news!! Maybe that means we'll have room for all our gowns! Thank you again for allowing me to crash in your room. We just got our electric bill for July. $300!!! Remember, I'm your 'companion' and will be at your beck and call.

OK, friday night it is. I'll get a ticket to the tea as well. I'll shoot to get there around 7, too, and just hang in the lobby until you arrive if you aren't there yet. Should take me about 2 hours...maybe a smidge more if you factor in a wrong turn and some friday night traffic.

Remember how I was all relieved because I wasn't making anything new? I lied. I just couldn't resist the call of the new frock and am currently jamming on a new bustle gown. Now that both boys are in school 5 days a week I have so much free time. Or that's how I justify it anyway.
