So I've been driving myself insane this evening (instead of doing my British lit homework) trying to figure out how to make the right kind of fichu for my polonaise. Is anyone else wearing a fichu? If so, do I just make a triangle if it's going to get tucked into the neckline?

I added additional yardage to my overskirt so it'll be nice and poufy, and then got too intimidated to start the pleating. I'm a little confused about how to handle the pointed part in the center back of the bodice. I'm hoping that when I get to it, it'll make sense. If anyone has advice for a visual learner, feel free to share :D

By the way, am I supposed to get anything in the mail from the Costume Con people once they are paid?

OK, ok...off to read tomorrow's assignment

I finally got an email from them about my badge name - but nothing in the mail. No idea!

I know I sent in my reg late, so I wasn't sure if I'd pick up my laminate/badge at the con or if I should expect it in the mail. Website didn't say either way. I guess I'll just have J check that the check cleared and use that as my confirmation!

It was about Dec. when CC27 sent out the Future Fashion Folio, & I think they did one progress report mailing, but that's it. If you registered recently, they wouldn't send anything bec. it's too close to the event.

OK, cool. As long as I know it's ok. Thank you!

I think the fichu is personal preference (or for modesty if it's cut very low). A triangle with a very slight concave curve on the side that goes against your neck works best for me. If the ends are very long you can wrap them around to the back and tie it, otherwise put it on before your gown so the ends are neatly tucked in.

OK. They just look so cute! I saw an online pattern that was 56" on the long side and 30" on each matching side of the triangle. I think she said to use tucks to shape it around the neck - is that right or do you actually cut yours with a curve?

This is so bad. I have no interest in doing homework. All I want to do is sew! But I have two papers and a big exam coming up. One of them is on The Importance of Being Ernest, which should be fun to write.
