Undergarments for Chemise a la Reine?

I need to make a chemise and a petticoat for the chemise a la reine. I have a corset already. I have a pattern for the chemise, but what kind of petticoat do I need to make? Advice on how full it should be? Do I wear a bum roll?
Should they be of linen or cotton? Light weight, I assume.

fluffy woollen petticoat (née blanket)

And of course stockings & shoes

The bumpad looks roughly like the moon, approx 3 days after being full. constructed after trial & error principe, but if you'd like, I could take pictures tonight.

Date: 2008-06-19 02:44 pm (UTC)The petticoats are just 2-3 panels of fabric pleated onto a waistband. Linen is probably more accurate but cotton is easier on the budget so that is what I have right now. Both Katherine and I have short tutorials on 18th century petticoats you might find helpful.

I love that it's a big size so you can see detail well.
