Pretty head dresses!

Since I'm in the 1830's mood, I thought I'd share a gallery of hats and head dresses for you!!



Note the style in the top left has the fans worked into the hair. Ah ha!! Put in with combs (or hair sticks if you prefer). I need to make this!!

OK! OK! I'll get back to my stupid petticoat!!

Oh man! I printed out all the pages from that website starting with 1700s up to 1930s. Aren't they awesome! I shared it with my guild so they could have some references for hairstyles and hats for all the eras.

ha ha - I think it's obvious you need an enormous bonnet twice as big as your head trimmed with 3 yards of 1 foot wide lace - or however you'd like to describe that one on the right in the middle!

I was practicing with regular size fans, but so far they have proved too heavy. I think I need smaller or lighter fans.

I managed to get my hands on some Godey's collections from the 30's (after a lot of fighting on eBay). I wish I had time to scan them for you instead of spending all my time fretting over wedding stuff... :(
