Here's the pattern line drawing, by the way:

What I LOVE about this pattern is that there is no crown or brim to attach so I can get it done quickly! One note: My headsize is 21.5, which was a small, so I cut out the small. WOW. It was huge! I had to cut a few inches off to make it fit, and then I realized I cut like 1/2 inch too much. Opps. So my overlap is scanty. Oh well. It seems to be fine. As long as I treat it gently and store it properly, it will hold up.

So here is my progress so far:

Cool! I've had that pattern in storage for awhile - thinking that one day I might get around to trying my hand making a hat.

I have made this hat. If you are interested I can post a picture of mine. I love this hat.

Here it is for what its worth. The picture isn't as flattering as I would like. The hat fits me better and looks better than the head.

This was my first try at hat making. I made it with what material I had on hand - a funky steam punk type of thing.

It looks great!

My version isn't turning out as well. For some reason, the buckram was like an inch taller than the fabric cover and I've had to cut it way down. I also can't seem to figure out how they desire me to get the cover onto the buckram from the directions, so I'm going to go with plain common sense! I never was good at following directions *hangs head*

Thank you. Considering your skills, I can't wait to see your finish hat. I am planning on making another one.

Yes, the difference between the fabric and buckram pieces was a problem I too had to deal with. So I cut the fabric first and then the buckram. I stopped using the directions a while ago. They don't always make sense to me so I do my own thing. It usually works better anyways.

it looks pretty already. That would make a nice crown kind of thing if it was decorated with jewels :D
