bored - fabric shopping

Jason fell asleep in the living room, so I couldn't watch tv or sew, and I don't have any new books at the moment (shocking!), so I went fabric shopping. Jomar had a good yield today! I got several yards of this soft, drapey spotted net. I think it's perfect as an overlay on a Regency gown as well as for drapery or overlay on summer bustle gowns. And the best part? You guessed it: $1/yd

Date: 2009-05-16 11:38 pm (UTC)When I was in Williamsburg, I stopped at the Hancock Fabrics and found two cottons I liked, a white with black polka dots, and black with white polka dots. I kept thinking this would make a lovely bustle gown, but then put them back. I have too much fabric, and I resisted. But later I found the awesome red and blue striped fabric at the antique mall so it was meant to be.
