Victorian and Edwardian fashion shows

Someone over at Truly Victorian posted a link to photographs from several fashion shows in Vancouver featuring Victorian and Edwardian gowns and accessories. There are several types of shows from "Women's Clothing of 1907", "Evening Clothes and Styles, 1900-1960", to "Couture Inside Out: The construction Secrets of Haute Couture Fashion, 1900-2000".


One of my favorite set of photos is from "Women's Clothing of 1907" in which, during the fashion show, the model is dressed one piece at a time from chemise to the final parasol right in front of your eyes.

I missed the event with Ivan Sayers due to other commitments but I do hope to attend other events during this exhibit.

It's odd really in that some weeks ago I was telling my darling all about the lovely pictures that I'd come across on the Truly Victorian site and describing the elegance and style of one certain poster. And then lo and behold he sends me a link to your stunning black and white Halloween costume! I'm guessing that you must belong to the same community somewhere down the line.

I'm looking forward to taking in some of the Belle Epoque events. And I will certainly be posting pictures. Perhaps I could get My Boy to dress for the event. He's recently just purchased a gorgeous top hat and his mother has made him a stunning vest. He washes up very nicely ;-)
