All I know is that it's the same dress I've been drooling over in my copy of Victorian Fashions and Costumes from Harper's Bazar 1867-1898 (page 92). Visiting toilette from 1876 of pearl grey faille with crimson and grey velvet trim and crimson cords and tassels.

Aww... you love me! That first one literally made my jaw drop. I know where I could get some beautiful dark dark grey silk taffeta too. Could you imagine that and rich black velvet on it? Yummy! Everything is so beautiful. Maybe I will have to do a black gown one of these days!
