More progress on the 18th century gown

madamemodisteToday I constructed the over skirt. When I say constructed, ...yeah...it's more like an architectural moment than sewing!! Anyway, It went pretty well. I put my panniers on my mannequin and took piccies of the gown so far.
So tomorrow I'll construct and apply the sleeves and hopefully make the underskirt. It looks pretty lifeless with out a petticoat underneath. I also usually use a small bustle pillow in back to fill in the area between the hip buckets in the back. Oh yeah, I also have to put on the hooks and eyes and hem the overgown.
